Carolina Amigó

Biography

She was born in Palma de Mallorca, where she lives and works, her work moves in the field of sculpture, painting, and photography, where she plays with a varied number of materials. She began her art studies in Mallorca and in 1994 she moved to London to continue her artistic training in the workshops of the Tate Gallery in London, the Mary Ward Center of Arts, the National Gallery in London, and the Glass Sculpture Center Foundation. In 2009 she participated in several workshops of the Joan Miró Foundation and became part of the “Círculo de Bellas Artes” de Palma where he investigated various techniques of engraving, graphic art and contemporary art and collaborated with Santiago Morilla, Cristina de Middle, Guillermo Mora and Javier Vallhonrat. Carolina Amigó, has won the distinctions of the Coll Bardolet Foundation First Prize in Painting 2012, finalist in the Pollença International Contest 2014 and 2015, Award for Best Balearic Plastic Artist 2018 (Rotary Club), Extraordinary Award of the Balearic School of Design 2019, finalist 2020 "Women artists from the Balearic Islands", Barbara Weil-Andraitx Foundation, in 2022 Finalist of Certamen Cultural de Marratxí, among others. She has exhibited at the Dionis Bennassar Gallery, MA Contemporani Palma Gallery, Ahoy Gallery, Fundación Sa Nostra Cultural Center, Palma Fine Arts Circle, Catalonia Fine Arts University, Can Prunera Museum, Pollença Museum, La Misericordia Cultural Center, Foundation Pilar and Joan Miró, Geraldes da Silva Oporto Gallery, Victòria House London, Tate Modern in London, etc. She has participated in Estampa 2010, Art Libris (Arts Santa Mònica) 2012, MAV, Visual Arts Festival (La Coruña), Urbanea Biennial, 2014 Intercultural Festival (Barcelona), Barcelona University of Fine Arts, 2016, Pool Art Fair New York, Art Miami, 2013, Hong Kong Asia Contemporary Art Fair;Luxembourg Art Fair, Art Bodensee-Vienna 2019, The Other Art Fair London-Victoria House...
